(236 words) The story of N. S. Leskov “Left-handed” is a work about the patriotism of a Russian person. The main character, whose name is indicated in the name, was by nature a wonderful craftsman. He was able to shoe a miniature flea. Surprisingly, the carnations with which he did this, it was impossible to see even in the highest quality microscope. However, due to the lack of education, the man made a mistake: he violated the distribution of weight in the product, and the flea stopped dancing. For this, the gifted artisan not only did not receive due recognition, but was completely abused and punished by the authorities, who were used to pushing people around. And yet, despite this attitude, the Lefty remained faithful to the end.
The hero could learn and build a brilliant career in England, but this country was a stranger to him, and he did not recognize her. After living there for a while, the man returned to his homeland and reported that it is better not to clean the guns with a brick, because of this they quickly fail. Even while dying, he tried to benefit his state. However, they did not heed his words, because there were special people for this. Ignoring the advice of the master was one of the reasons for the failure in the Crimean War. The southpaw loved Russia, although here his talent was not appreciated as highly as in the West. Being robbed, abandoned and forgotten by everyone in his native land, he, nevertheless, thought only of the welfare of the motherland.
A lefty is a collective image of a Russian person with a unique ability to work with his hands and loyalty to his state. He proved to foreigners and countrymen that in our country there are people with phenomenal talents who are ready to give themselves unselfishly to their homeland.
